Fresh Prince Video
Animating type to sound: motion graphics class
Description
For this project, I was tasked with creating the intro credits to a TV show or movie in a three-dimensional space, which in this instance was for the Amazon Prime show The Boys.
Challenge
Making a credit sequence that not only feels emotionally tact to the themes and vibes of the show, but also showcases certain aspects of what the show is about in an interesting yet not spoileristic manner, since the show doesn’t have a traditional credit sequence to draw inspiration from
Solution
All of the characters are static silhouettes to create visual contrast and emotional depth from both the 3d objects and the lighted background. In addition, the transitions exist to show all of the main characters, as well as some of the most important or memorable parts of the show from throughout the first three seasons in a concise and intriguing manner.
Description
For this projects, I was tasked with creating a video for accompanying audio file scene, this specific one being from the 90s tv show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, which shoes an accessibility of type to sound
Challenge
Match the onscreen text to the audio given in all aspects to make it feel naturally included, from the timing of the vocals to the level of emotion that comes out of the characters throughout the clip
Solution
In order to match the 90s aesthetic, the colors and font are derived from the title card of the show, with gradients and 90s-style typography, and depending on how fast the characters are speaking, the text adjusts in stillness as well for clarity when reading. In addition, the colors gradually become redder to emphasize the emotionally charged anger as the scene progresses.
